After a rather scary incident in Frodsham last weekend the following email is a result of that from our Police Sergeant for Frodsham, Ian Wilson:
“The purpose of this e-mail is to provide the town council with a degree of reassurance that the police are taking positive action and have a patrol plan in place moving forward through the summer months.
As you may be aware there were several violent incidents in the town last weekend most or all of which appeared to involve people who are not Frodsham residents.
I have been working with my command team and staff at headquarters to put a plan in place for every weekend over the summer to ensure there are sufficient police in the town and who are visible to provide both reassurance to the community and act as a deterrent to potential offenders.
Frodsham & Helsby has a Pub-watch group and has recently introduced an on-line system to help enforce banning orders robustly, personal license holders and the police are also working together to enforce drinking on the pavement (All Al-Fresco licenses have been reviewed) and a dress code has been introduced to raise the standard of clientele in the town. In addition, regular licensing visits are conducted including drugs wipes in toilets to monitor potential drug use all with the consent / cooperation of the license holders.
I am aware of all of the festival type events that are also planned for in and around Frodsham and I have done everything I can to ensure these events will now add to / contribute to any incidents of violence in Frodsham over the coming months.
Please feel free to circulate this e-mail to all FTC councillors by way of reassurance and an update and if any of the Councillors have any questions / concerns I am more than happy for them to contact myself or Neil Flanagan. “
